Happy Birthday to Matt..

This past Saturday, July 12th, was Matt's 31st birthday! WOW! Does 31 not sound so old??!! I guess just for Matt.. ;) That morning, Matt enjoyed a free round of golf at Cascades from his father and Clay (as usual)..not the free part though, just ask our VOW leader, golf $$ is ALWAYS a topic of conversation! :) While Matt was busy golfing CaCa had Addi. Here's a pic after 4 very long hours of Addi napping, so long in fact, that I woke the child up, just to make sure she was still breathing..what can I say, I guess she get's it honest! :)

After Matt got home, we headed to Shreveport (one of our favorite places!) and I treated Matt to Horseshoe's Jack Binion's steakhouse, where we met our friend Colleen and her boyfriend Adam. You like how each couple matched??!! I know..dorks!

We had a wonderful YUMMY dinner, and even better conversation with friends. After dinner, Colleen and Adam ditched us, and Matt and I enjoyed a little casual entertainment with some gambling at the boats!! :) Luckily Matt had some birthday luck on his side, and we came home with a little extra cash!!

The next day, Missy and Addi, came over to help Matt and I finish up our registries.

Cody, Melanie, Brennan, Andy, Casey, Demi, Talan, Mike & Becky (my uncle and aunt and also andy's parents) and Robert & Teresa (also my uncle and aunt) all left for Destin on Friday WITHOUT Missy, Me, Matt, and most importantly Addi! What awful parents, I know. So we've all been taking turns keeping Addi for the week. My dad had her on Friday, Missy Sat-Mon, and Matt and I will have her from today until Thursday. Here's a too too cute pic! (It's so funny how kids minds work, as soon as I get my camera out, she yells "cheeese" and heads directly for the fireplace) Hence all the fireplace pics!

We headed for Dillard's first. Last time Matt and I "attempted" this on our own. After two long hours, and only TWO registered candle holders later, we called in reinforcements! I knew starting out, this probably would be a little tricky, seeing as how an almost two year old would be joining us this time.. The first ten minutes, needless to say, were torture! What is it when you tell a child "don't touch", they want to touch EVERYTHING! If I could wipe out two words in the english language, it would be "MINE" and "NOOOOOOO", Addi's two favorite words! ;) Matt is soooo good with kids, and I know he'll be a wonderful father, but when they start crying he completely shuts down! I mean...D-O-N-E! I've tried explaining to him, "Honey, kids cry" but, he wants NOTHING to do with it. (I think I'm in trouble!)

After a long breather, Matt returned, and with Addi back to "normal", we really ended up getting everything accomplished.

My lil' helper! Next stop, Target! Matt decided to take a proactive approach this time, and for about an hour, this is where you could find Matt and Addi! :)


We'll see what the rest of the week holds for us, my bible study starts tonight, so Matt will have Addi ALL to himself tonight..oh boy!

HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY!! Whew, what a weekend! Why is it, that once you FINALLY get a four day weekend work-free, you need the ENTIRE five day work-week, just to re-cooperate?! Matt and I had a busy busy, fun-filled, one too many hot dog, jam packed good ole' time. Let's see.. It all started Thursday night, with a surprise 30th birthday party for Matt's longtime friend, Josh Young, at stone lake. We had a wonderful evening, and got a chance to catch up a little with old friends. It was GREAT getting to see "the gang" together again. Here's a few pics from the evening. Friday the fourth, = S L E E P! It was Great! :) Matt had been staying at Mikki and Clay's for the week, while the entire Bobo/Funder Family spent the holiday with Mike, Casey, & the kids. Too bad we didn't get to go! :( Anyways, so the apt. was unusually quiet this day, and I took full advantage of it. That afternoon flew by, and before I knew it, Matt and I were picking Holly up, and headed out for the Satterwhite's Annual 4th of July Fun at the Farm! Cody, Mel, the kids, Sammy, Nancy, and Melanie's niece Melaina and her friend Heather, joined us this year. The Satterwhite's always go way out for the holiday, but I do believe this was the best year yet! Over 1000 attended a night full of hotdogs, apple pie, and sweet tea. There were games for the adults, games for the kids, and even 2 huge blow up water slides this year..very cool, if I do say so myself. Here are a couple pics, of course, of the fun!

A few of the highlights from the night. The fireworks were spectacular! Even brought a tear to my eye for a sec. I don't know if it's the fact, that they're really that good, or that they're so close, or the music Sammy choreographs with them, but it was very special..very patriotic. Mel said the best she'd ever seen, Cody claimed he was asking for a refund on the fireworks he had purchased for the next night! ;) ha!

Saturday was another good sleep in day, and afterwards I headed off to Holly's to spend some time with her and Parker..FINALLY! I haven't gotten to spend alot of time with Parker, and really get to know his personality too much, so I was thankful for the little time we got. We played trucks and tickled, watched his bath..and off to bed he went. In the afternoon though, during a nap, Holly and I were able to sneak off and do a little dress shopping. It was something I kept putting off, but all in all it was pretty painless. I tried on three, and of course didn't find "the one" yet, but it gave me motivation to start that "diet" I've been talking about for months..wait years, and look forward to trying on some more. Sorry, no pics! :)

Later that night, we went to Cody and Melanie for their 4th of (5th of) July bash. We watched the kids swim, ate alot, and Cody put on the First Annual Ferguson Fireworks Extravaganza! See pics!

Sunday was a real treat for me. Holly & Parker, Ashley, Philip, Dylan & Lane, Ginger, Melanie, Cody & the kids, and I all spent the afternoon at the pool at Cody & Mel's. Casey joined us for a sec, but Demi wasn't feeling well, so motherhood called! :) Amanda had to work. The event was to plan Matt and I's first shower. A couple's laua shower! :) I'm so very excited, after planning and attending EVERYONE else's shower, it's finally my turn! Cody cooked out hotdogs, and we spent the afternoon just hanging out and enjoying every one's kids and company..and you guessed it, here's the pics!

Summertime!

Last weekend, was the first official days of Summer, and Cody & Melanie threw a kick-off bash of sorts, with around thirty or so people. What an interesting and drama filled night it was..here's a few pics from the weekend!

We all had a wonderful evening, but looked forward to the next day of laziness and sun. Ginger and Seane came over and we cooked out and swam. Here's a pic of my sweet addi, "pre-accident".

This weekend, Matt and I took it pretty easy. We spent yesterday at Matt's parents on the lake with Mikki, Clay, and the kids.. we had a great time, full of laughs, and good food..but no pics! :(

The boys have a super cool new tree swing too, that I wish I'd got pics of..Today Matt and I did, absolutely nothing..it was wonderful!
