Sittin on the dock of the..lake

Another holiday weekend has come and gone, back to work tomorrow! :(

This past weekend was a pretty low key one for Matt and I. On Friday after work, we went to dinner at Fritz's here in Longview, Saturday we did absolutely nothing, Sunday we spent the day at Matt's parents house on the lake, and today Matt played golf this morning, while I sat planted infront of the television, tracking Gustav!! Thankfully, New Orleans was blessed as far as we can tell, and didn't get hit quite as hard as predicted, while we here in Texas will hold our breath, pray, and see what happens.. Later in the afternoon, we went to Cody and Mel's for a good ole' fashioned Labor Day Cookout. Those in attendance were of course, Matt and I, Cody & Melanie, Brennan & Addi, Andy & Casey, Demi & Talan, Aaron, Ginger & Seane, and Amber.

To tie in my traditional musical headline, here are a few pics from our time at the lake.

The boys (Christian, Cullen, and two of their friends Blake and Tanner) had a blast! Here's a few pics of their days adventures..oh, to be young again!

The Boat Ride!
What a wonderful and relaxing day with friends and family..

My thoughts and prayers are with everyone who will be returning home to the Gulf Region..I pray that their journeys are safe, their houses are dry, and life will return back to normal as quickly as possible.

Until Next Time!

It's her party, and she'll cry if she wants to!

Well, this past weekend was party time again..only this time, it was Addison's second birthday! (not technically until Friday, the 29th, but party time none-the-less) Her theme: Ice Scream, You Scream, We all Scream for Ice Cream!! Sweets and Treats! ..and of course, pool fun as well. I'll tell this post through pictures, I suppose..

..don't let looks deceive you..these pics were "pre-party"..the smiles, didn't last! :)

How Cute are These??!! I have to give complete credit to my NOT so Betty Crocker sister-in-law Mel, for making these FANTASTIC ice cream cone cakes!! They actually tasted as good as they looked! :)
how precious does sweet Demi look..ready to swim!

Party Girl- 2 sunglasses, a bow and a tierra!!
Gettin' Ready for Party Time!!
Addi and her friend Karson

Now, for the picture that this post was named for..how happy was the birthday girl!! ..what a little Caca!! :)

What a GREAT pic, of Missy & Addi!!

how happy was she now, that she got her PRESENT!! but, of course..Bubba had to "show her" how to drive.. :)
she finally got it, the next day..
then, needed a "lil push" from bubba again!! :)

On Sunday, Matt & I had our engagement picture session..it went, well.. I'll let the email I got from our photographer tell the story..
"I hope you don't think I'm being too personal...even though I know it is a personal issue... I know we don't know each other, and I hope I am not ruining our "working relationship" that we are still developing. I just hate to see you disappointed or upset by what you see. and...it's certainly a challenge to take pictures of someone who doesn't like their picture taken! lol! I want to do a good job for you, but part of that has to come from you as well :) You've given me lots of examples of what you would like to have pictures of; details and fun groupings and that was very helpful. But what I mean is that it has to come from within you! so be completely you, the you that enjoys life with the man of her dreams- and the camera will see it, and you will see it in your pictures!"

how funny is that??!! I'll use a line from Holly and I's conversation yesterday.. BRIDEZILLA!! :) no, not me. It was hot, I mean H-O-T! and, all I kept hearing from Matt, was..your back is sweaty, your cheek's are red, you're too close.. so, needless to say..I'm holding my breath, to see how the pics turned out!! :)
Until Next Time!! ;)

Are You Ready For Some FOOTBALL??!!

For those of you that know me at ALL, you know that I am a HUGE Cowboys Fan (maybe not as much as Mrs. Price, aka the world's #1 Cowboys Fan), but I believe I can hold my own!

Sure..everyone knows, that the Dallas Cowboys are "America's Team", and if you're from Texas, surely you're a Cowboys fan too..but I believe, at least in this era, I have in a since, qualified to become a fan. I watched the Cowboys as a child and teenager, but never really understood the game, or the legacy behind the Cowboys, until a couple of years ago. Once Romo secured his position as starting quarterback, I was hooked. It's kinda of like, I am starting from the beginning, watching and hoping this set of guys take us straight to the SUPER BOWL!

If you haven't already found this jewel, HBO's new season of Hard Knocks: Training Camp with the Dallas Cowboys! It comes on every Wednesday night (until Sept. 3) at 9pm. If you're a Cowboys fan, you NEED to watch it! Not only does it focus on the daily grind of training camp, but it gives you an insight as to who the players really are, where they come from, and where they want to go! It's FANTASTIC! So in-depth, and humorous.

Now, I'd like to introduce you to a FEW of my favorite players! :)

Starting Quarterback, #9 from Eastern Illinois, Tony Romo!!
Wide Receiver, #81 from Tennessee-Chattanooga, Terrell Owens!
Tight End, #82 from Tennessee, Jason Witten!Running Back, #24 from Minnesota, Marion Barber! Wide Receiver, #84 from NW Oklahoma State, Patrick Crayton!
Kicker, #6 from Arizona, Nick Folk!
Punter, #1 from Hawaii, Mat McBriar!

I also enjoy pretty much the entire starting offensive & defensive line as well, but that is WAY too many to picture!
Flozell Adams, Marc Colombo, Andre Gurode, Ken Hamlin, Anthony Henry, DeMarcus Ware, Chris Canty, Marcus Spears, Greg Ellis, Anthony Spencer, Bradie James, Bobby Carpenter, Kevin Burnett, Terence Newman, Ken Hamlin, Roy Williams, and newbie to us Zach Thomas!

Here's some guy's I'm keeping my eye on this season!

Cornerback, #21 from West Virginia, Adam "Pacman" Jones!Running Back, #28 from Arkansas, Felix Jones!

Defensive Tackle, #66 from Washington, Tank Johnson!
I'm not sure if this next one is going to make the team or not, but I like him! He's got GREAT Character!
Wide Receiver, #16 from Ramapo, Todd Lowber!

You can't have a team without a coach..Wade Phillips!But..of Course, I do believe the brains and real magic behind the Cowboy's recent success, is none other than ASST. coach, Jason Garrett!

Soon the leaves will be turning, the charcoals will burn, the air will turn brisk, and the sound of cheering will fill our towns. Football season is upon us..the best time of year.

GET CHA' POPCORN READY!!

Until Next Time!!
