Take this Job and Shove It!

I quit my job. OH MY GOSH. I quit my job! Next week will be my final week at the place I’ve been at, for the last FIVE years! I can’t even describe to you all the emotions, worries, nervousness, scared, happy, excited feelings that have consumed me for the past two weeks. I made the decision to take a management position with another complex here in town. I will be the boss. me. the boss. scary, huh?! I took the job for the opportunity, the promotion, the salary, the benefits, 401K, bonuses.. all the reasons why one would take a new position, but not without a VERY heavy heart for leaving the position I hold now. I will miss the people I work with TREMENDOUSLY, but couldn’t turn down the opportunity to better myself and my family for the future! Please pray for a smooth transition, knowledge, patience, understanding, because I’m gonna need it!!

I Put A Spell On You..

It may be a crazy life.  But it’s our life.

yep, you guessed it.. for Halloween, Matt and I were Jon & Kate.. I mean really, what else??!!  =)  Oh how much fun we had! Ashley & Philip had a Halloween get together on Friday night, and Matt and I headed over there with our 8 kids in tow around 7:30ish..

I sooo heart halloween, I love the decorating and the spook, and can’t wait to have a house to hold annual Halloween parties, just like my family always did, full with caramel apples and popcorn balls!!

Saturday morning, we awoke to a call from Mikki, that Matt’s grandmother GG had been taken to the hospital and wasn’t doing well, so Matt and I hopped outta bed and headed for the hospital. After a lot of waiting and wondering, waiting and praying, we finally discovered that she did in fact have a mild heart attack, but the doctors aren’t certain how much damage has been caused. Still today, she is still very disorientated only answering questions with one or two words at a time, much better than yesterday, but still not GG. She will see a neurologist tomorrow, so add her to your prayer requests if you would!

We spent the entire afternoon and evening at the hospital yesterday, and around 8:30ish Matt and I headed over to Ashley’s parents house to spend the Halloween evening with Ash & Philip, Ash’s parents and all their friends…and how fun they’ve always been and continue to be! Never a dull moment! We ate, played some games, and just had a wonderful very late evening! Today, we watched our Cowboys go 5-2 WOOHOO, and headed back to the hospital to spend the afternoon with GG. This time change has gotten us both pretty messed up, so I think it’s about time for me to head to bed..hope you all had a wonderful Halloween and have a fantastic week..it’s NOVEMBER already!!

We’ve Only Just Begun…

Wow!! A YEAR already??!! It’s almost incomprehensible to think that exactly one year ago RIGHT now, we were all doing this.. craziness I tell ya!! Matt and I were finally married, and dreaming of the Dominican Republic!! ;) I can’t tell you how fast this year has gone by! I mean Seriously, a YEAR already??!! Some days it seems like Matt and I just walked down the isle yesterday, and others seems like it’s been 60 years instead of just one! :) Before I tell you all about our first wedding anniversary weekend, let’s take a stroll back down memory lane, shall we??

Lovely! So now that everyone’s back up to speed, we’ll bring it to the present! =) Since our Anniversary fell on a Sunday this year, we decided to celebrate the whole weekend! On Friday, we made it a movie night, and saw..

            

Law Abiding Citizen was super good, great movie from beginning to end, well kinda..but I won’t give it away.. Paranormal on the other hand, THE. WORST. MOVIE. EVER!!! I sooooo don’t usually fall for stupid unrealistic movies, but Matt looooves them..is SCARED to death of them, but loves them all the same. So since it was our Anniv. weekend, I decided to be nice, and surprise him by going. Ugh- Waste of that 2 hours!! Don’t go see it..just don't. Not scary, Not good, don’t!

Saturday morning consisted of what we love to do best..wake up late and lay around! :) Early that afternoon however, we decided to “part ways” and seek out after our “paper” gift. Matt and I had previously decided that we were not going to spend alot of money on each other every year, and instead we were going to stick with the Traditional Wedding Gifts, and this year was paper..woowhee!! :) and well, what do you know..we showed up at THE SAME PLACE! There I was standing in Lifeway looking over cards, when I hear this voice, “You can run but you can’t hide”..great. I made him go to the back while I got my gift and quickly left the store..so typical..I should have expected it! :) I headed home, got our year old cakes out of the freezer and threw them in the fridge..

and got ready for our night out. Around 6, we headed East to dine at..

Soooooo, SO GOOD!! Matt and I both had never been, and were very excited to go! It didn’t let down! Such a nice cozy elegant atmosphere..we definitely recommend it, and will for sure be going back! Filet with Béarnaise sauce, yum yum good!! They had the BEST Macaroni and Cheese I’ve ever put in my mouth..to DIE for..they even gave us a free slice of cheesecake for dessert!!

 

How Sweet was that??!! We could tell that the restaurant was full of Anniversaries and Birthday’s that night, and at one table the guy had even requested a dozen red roses be put on the table before him and his wife got there..to which of course my husband replied, “Honey, I so would have gotten you some, but they’re not paper!” oh he’s quite the funny one. :)

after dinner, sticking with the theme of paper, we decided to go spend some at The Horseshoe!! :) Let’s just say 30 minutes later, we were on our way back West! ;)

This morning we awoke, and headed to my aunt’s around noon for lunch with the fam!! What’s a better way to spend your anniversary, than with 20 of you dearest?! :) Lunch was fantabulous as always, and the company was even better.. I so love my cousins! There’s never a dull moment with 5 boys!! We stayed until just before kickoff and rushed home to catch the Cowboys game in peace..after all, I’m much to vocal to have people around! ..and MAN, what a game!! I’m so glad Romo could give me a win for my anniversary, how sweet of him! =) After the game, and after six(the time of our wedding) Matt and I decided to finish out our Anniversary Weekend with our cake and presents!

Our cakes were actually surprisingly good..Matt had been saying forever that he wasn’t going to have any, but he did, we did..and they were good. I almost hated throwing them away, because they were perfectly fine cakes..I mean, we spent alot of $$ on them cakes!! :) Sorry Momma!

Our Paper Gifts..

      

I got Matt this beautiful picture frame with our picture (paper) for him to put on his desk at work that said, Answered Prayers- Thank You God for all the Blessings you have Given. For great is your love towards me. Psalm 86:13 and Matt got me a daily devotional from one of my favorites, Beth Moore! So, not bad for some paper!! :)

It’s sad to think we’re no longer newlyweds..now were just old married folks like all of you!! :)  Here’s to many many more years..I can’t wait for what each and every one of them will bring!! We’ve Only Just Begun! Love ya Mattie!! Happy One Year Anniversary!!

Eh?? Yes, it’s here!! I love love LOVE this weather..cold, rainy, snuggly weather!! Don’t you??!! The temperature, the colors, the smells..ahhh.  All I wanted to do was stay curled up in my PJ’s all weekend long, however I didn’t.. that is ALL weekend ;). On Friday, Matt and I met Ginger and Seane at the movies to see..

It was pretty dang cute, but keep in mind I sooo heart Vince Vaughn, so that may have had something to do with it! =) After the movie, no one was up for another, so I took Matt home and came back to see..

S-A-D! It was good, maybe too because I super duper heart Jennifer Anniston, but I enjoyed it.. After the movie, I headed home and headed straight to bed.

The next morning, I did get to enjoy just being laid up on the couch, snuggled with my blanket, watching TV for most of the morning. Matt decided to play golf that afternoon, so while he was gone, I ran to the store and came back and made sausage balls for the first time to take to that evening’s festivities! let me just tell you they were YUM-O, and a HIT at the party! We attended a surprise 30th birthday party for my cousin, Brad!

 

Brad and I are the “same age” (me hitting the big 3-0 in January) and so we were always the closest cousins. I’m one of five boys! To say the least, he was s-h-o-c-k-e-d, and genuinely had NO idea! We arrived at about 6:30, and waited for him to get there..

  This next picture really shows his emotion..he just kept saying, “Oh my Gosh, Oh my Gosh” haha too cute!! Brad hugging his dad Garyand our grandmother, Nini! =)

Cody & Mel were there too, ha! not sure why I didn’t get a “real picture”..Mel’s birthday was on Friday, HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY MEL, but she spent the entire day at the Orlando, Houston & Shreveport Airports trying to get back to Longview..she ended up not getting home until after midnight, poor thing, what a way to spend your birthday, huh?!! =(

When Matt and I got home, we decided to watch a movie that Matt had been wanting to see forever. I saw that it was on pay-per-view, so I ordered it to surprise him while we were gone.. Ugh..have you seen this?? THE longest and slowest movie EVER!!! It was alright, it may have been that we didn’t start it until after midnight, but I couldn’t wait for it to be over, and I think Matt fell asleep!!

Sunday Funday was our normal routine, the Cowboys played the noon game, and for three very long hours I agonized over whether we would get the win or not..it was sooo painful to watch. I mean Kansas City, really Cowboys??!! Ugh- A win’s a win I suppose, thank goodness we have a bye week this week, I don’t think I could take another week of my sorry sorry team this soon!! After the game, Matt and I had a late lunch at Red Lobster, and then settled in for the night..Off to the work week..man, these weekend days seem to be going by sooo much faster!! Here’s to another!

Shot through the heart..

Why God Why..or maybe Why ROMO Why??!!! I have no joy in my heart right now, no passion for life, no hope for tomorrow..so I’ll blog! ;)

Friday was Longview’s homecoming, and on Wednesday, Ginger and I attempted to purchase tickets, only to be shot down..in only a day, all the reserved seats had been sold, and the only thing left to buy was general admission, on the VISITOR’s side..so needless to say, I wasn’t pleased. Instead of sitting with Sulphur Springs, Gin and I decided we’d just wait for Friday, and get tickets “on the hill” before the game. Friday came, and I started coming down with the Swine Flu {not really, just achey} and Ginger, SEVEN months preggo, ;) had a little trip down some stairs and hurt her foot, so we all decided to forego the game. (Happy to announce the Lobos did win 45-0!) So.. Friday after work, Matt and I ran a few errands, and headed to Outback for dinner, only to run into Ginger & Seane in the parking lot! YAY!! So we all enjoyed a wonderful evening dinner together. The next morning, Seane decided to accompany Matt for a little round of golf in Tyler, so I rode with Matt over to The Richardson’s and spent the afternoon lounging around (and setting up facebook!) with Gin!! Amber joined us late afternoon, just as the FedEx guy delivered Gin’s bedding for little Miss Reese!! sooo exciting and sooo cute!! =)

Around 5ish, I headed over to Tyler to meet up with Mattie, his parents, and the Funder5, for dinner and game night for Mikki’s Birthday!! We ate at Julian’s, and it was yummy as usual, before ending up at Matt’s parents at the lake. We all enjoyed a wonderful evening, and got to see all the pics of MeeMaw & PawPaw’s vacation to Canada..(sooo beautiful) then finished the evening eating cake and playin cards!!

As I’ve mentioned before, 3/5 of the Funder5 are now Vegan, so Mikki made her Triple Layer Chocolate Cream Cake from scratch! I’m not the biggest chocolate lover (shocker I know) but I did have some, and it was quite good, Vegan and all! ;)

We didn’t leave Matt’s parents until well after 11, so you can imagine how ridiculously delirious Clara was by that time..she stayed up with us the entire time we played cards, and was 100% our entertainment! She was cracking us up..it’s crazy how fast she’s grown up! Here’s us having a little fun with the old “pee pie” game..leave it to uncle Mattie and PawPaw to change the ancient  game to..

Today has consisted of the same ole’ typical Sunday, once football season swings into full force.. However from the title of this post, we all know how my Cowboys played today (or did they?!)..so moving on, I’ve got the sliding glass door open, it feels extra chilly in here, lovin this rainy cool day, well.. most of it!! Here’s to a wonderful week and a VERY Happy Birthday to Mik tomorrow!!

Stop! In the Name of {Money} Love..

oh, it just doesn’t stop..

Jon has sent a letter to TLC demanding a cease-and-desist order, that they halt production of "Jon & Kate Plus 8" or any other show with his children STAT.

Jon now claims the filming is detrimental to his kids and he's now determined to bring in police if that's what it takes to stop the production!!

"I don't want them to film anymore. I don't think it's healthy for them," Jon said on Larry King Live on Thursday."And I the reason I don't think it's healthy for them is that we're going through a divorce right now. And I don't think it should be televised. And I think my kids should be taken off the show."

So coincidence??! I think not.  Jon was just 86'd from the show and a day later he's suddenly worried about the kids he sporadically sees. A source connected with the production says Jon had no problem shooting the show as recently as last Friday ... but since he was essentially fired from the show this week, he's suddenly worried about his children.

FYI ... whoever put up the sign misspelled "penelty" and "Johnathon."

like everything..the story doesn’t end there..

Kate's lawyer, Mark Momjian, first and foremost, would like Jon to know that the chances of him halting the production of their reality show all together is unlikely:

"These parties entered into an agreement once the divorce action was filed that allowed each parent - who had physical custody of the children - to make the filming decisions when the children were with them. When the children are with Kate, Jon agreed that Kate would make the filming decisions involving the kids."

Admitting to making "mistakes" and having "messed up," Gosselin said he realized one day it was time to move forward without cameras.

"I had an epiphany one day.I just looked in the mirror and I said I don't want to be this person anymore," he said. "I want the fodder to stop and I want Kate and I to mediate. ... I'm here to apologize to Kate.I'm here to apologize to a lot of people. I have made mistakes.I apologize to Hailey [Glassman]."

Mark reveals that Kate has every intention to continue on with the show as long as TLC wants and as for Jon and his "epiphany" about unhealthy this lifestyle is for his kids:

"This is less about a change of heart and more about a change of strategy on Jon's part."

Gosselin, who said Kate wants to continue the show for "financial reasons," said he last spoke to his estranged wife three and a half weeks ago. He said he texts her, but she doesn't reply.

Kate just released the following statement:

"It appears that Jon's priority is Jon and his interests ... I'm saddened and confused by Jon's public media statements. Jon has never expressed any concerns to me about our children being involved in the show and, in fact, is on the record as saying he believes the show benefits our children."

..and here’s where the real story comes in..

Sources connected with the production of "Jon & Kate Plus 8" "Kate Plus 8" say all the hoo-hah has to do with $$$.  ..well of course it does..

Sources on both sides tell us Jon has been asking for his exit papers from the show for several months. Production sources say they were willing to continue giving Jon a full paycheck and not put him on the show, but there was one string attached -- that he couldn't do any other show without the permission of TLC! BTW, that's a standard condition in TV-land.
Production sources say Jon's lawyer was demanding that TLC let Jon do any show he wanted but TLC wouldn't budge. Production sources say Jon's lawyer then threatened to shut down production by claiming the show wasn't good for the kids, and that's just what happened!!
How is he ever going to start up “The Divorced Dad’s Club” now??!! =)

End of the Road..

I just know all of you have been going through some major withdrawals, without my Jon & Kate Plus 8 updates, so I thought I’d take the time, to catch yall up to speed! ;)

He's been fired!

TLC made a shocking announcement, that as of November 2, Jon will no longer be appearing on Jon And Kate Plus 8 and the show will be changed to simply Kate Plus 8!

Now Jon won't have to rush back from trips and appearances with his girlfriend to hang out with his kids to film. =)

A source close to the show says: “Given Jon’s recent antics, there was no way the show could continue to portray him as a doting Dad, not while all this other crap was going on."

HOWEVER.. the story continues..

Jon Gosselin's rep is assuring the world that he was "not fired" from Jon and Kate Plus Eight, just that now, the show will be focusing more on Kate’s new role as a single mom and the lives of her 8-year-old twins and 5-year-old sextuplets.

TLC has also agreed with Jon's rep saying that while the name change is still taking place, Jon will still appear on the show - just not as often.

Great, he's essentially a "guest-star" to his own family!!!

In the meantime he's "still working out the details" for other projects including pitching his own reality show called The Divorced Dads Club with that other "Father of the Year," Michael Lohan!!
