In My Next Thirty Years..

Yep, that’s right, I’m 30. The Big 3-0!! My actual birthday was Thursday the 21st, and after work, Matt and I, along with my dad and Donna, and Melanie and Brennan left for Tyler to meet Cody, my mom, and Matt’s parents @ Bernard’s, one of my favorite local restaurants. We all enjoyed a yummy dinner, and finished it off with a cookie cake and marble slab’s cheesecake ice cream, my FAVORITE!! {thanks mom!}

DSC03156 Big Poppa!

Poppa paid for Matt and I’s dinner, after telling me, it was THE most expensive meal he had paid for in 55 years!! He’s 55, ha :)

The next night, Matt and I went over to Ginger and Seane’s to FINALLY spend some time with them and baby Reese!  Like previously mentioned, I had been SO sick, and I couldn’t go see Reese for weeks, so we took full advantage of  lost time while we were there! Here’s a few pics I was able to snag of this sweet, tiny, precious, baby girl!! :)

While we were there, Seane mentioned how they hadn’t been out to eat, just them, since Reese was born, and that they’d like to go to Papacita’s the following night, and asked if we’d like to go too. Well of course we said yes, and I didn’t think much more about it, until we got in the car to leave that night. As we were driving home, I mentioned to Matt, “I’m surprised they want to go to Papacita’s, they usually go to Posado’s” .. little did I know then!  :)

The next day, Matt went to play golf, and I caught up on my Tivo. Once he got home, he kept continuously asking me about dinner with The Richardson’s. “Are we going, You need to go get ready. I told Seane we were going!” The whole thing didn’t seem much like Matt, so I began to wonder. Before I got in the the shower, I caught him sneaking on the phone.. and thought again, Hmmm.. Also, earlier in the week, on my actual birth day, while eating lunch with Mel, Ashley called Mel, to which Mel looked at her phone, and read the number aloud..and I said, that’s Ash. Hmmm.. So I played along, hopped in the shower, and we were on our way. We arrived to Papacita’s around 7ish, and I quickly began to scan the parking lot. And.. there it was, PawPaw’s Surburban..with SMU license plates! ;) We walked up stairs with Ginger and Seane, and arrived at my “Semi-Surprise” Party!! :)

DSC05681

I was pretty surprised to find fifty of my nearest and dearest, there to celebrate ME!! :) I just want to take a second now, and tell everyone that worked SO hard putting this party together, how much it’s means, and how much I appreciate everything yall did for me!! I felt loved!

..and here’s the 30 List!!..

1. She's simply loveable -- a loyal friend whose love never seems to wear out.
2. She takes after her father so much.
3. Always gives us a reason for a good laugh when we're together, even if it's not on purpose.
4. She is a blessing to our family.
5. Because she is honest, trustworthy, and more often than not, speaks from her heart rather than just a quick-witted response.
6. She always makes all occasions special for us!
7. We are her babies because CaCa always tells us we are!
8. She can put up with Matt! AND she always wants to win when we play NAKED!!
9. She can even love the loser Cowgirls!
10. Because she gave me a chance at our friendship.
11. She can always either make me laugh, or send me into a state of disbelief at what just came out of her mouth -- "I mean seriously", "C'mon people", U love ME!"
12. Because she loves ME so much!
13. She makes me laugh without even trying.
14. She is my bestie!
15. Her facial expressions, especially the one where her bottom lip goes far left and down, teeth clenched, and eyes wide and looking down.
16. Because she is a 49ers fan!
17. She's been there, right by my side, for every monumental occasion in my life!
18. She is a great aunt!
19. Because if you are lucky enough to be a friend, it will be permanent.
20. CaCa plays with me and gives fun presents!
21. Always makes me laugh, usually without even trying.
22. She's fun to be around -- always funny and good-natured.
23. Because she is like a live action, reality tv show on ice all the time. Very entertaining and way too much drama.
24. She's like another granddaughter to us.
25. She kept her maiden name so law enforcement officials would know she was a sheriff's daughter.
26. There is no one else quite like her!
27. She is like an aunt to my babies.
28. No matter how long the time or how far the distance, it's always like we just talked yesterday.
29. I don't have to read trashy magazines to know what's going on with celebs -- just read her blog.
30. She is my baby girl.

How sweet is that??!! :) My BFF Holly,  also made me a Shutterfly book, and dedicated pages for family and friends to go on and make a special page of their own to me.. I LOVED the idea, and canNOT wait to receive it!! Thanks Again folks, you’re the best!! :)

So here’s to my next thirty years.. hope this set is just as good to me as the previous ones!

Until Next Time!! :)

Who Let the Dogs Out??!!

2010! Man, I’m still getting used to that! Matt and I had a wonderful time ringing in the New Year with family. After both of our days at work NYE, we packed up and headed to Matt’s parents house to spend the holiday weekend with them, the Funder5, and the Yankee Bobo’s!! Matt’s brother and his family only get to come down maybe once or twice a year, so we really have to take full advantage of the time we get to spend with them. We arrived around 8ish, and spent the remainder of the evening eating, playing games, and just spending some great quality family time with one another. Here’s a couple of pics from our NYE!

You see Cullen had to sport his Philly jersey, while everyone else supported The Boys.. Hey Cullen, “How did that Jersey work out for you last night??!! ;)

Once we all celebrated the ball drop, we quickly headed off to bed to get ready for the next day’s festivities. Bringing you all back to the headline of this post, Matt’s parent’s gave all of us Great Wolf Lodge tickets and rooms for Christmas, and we couldn’t wait to get there!! The entire family had gone for the first time, the weekend of Matt and I’s wedding, (minus Casey who had to get back North) and Matt and I had gone with MeeMaw and PawPaw and the Funder5 back in May, so this was everyone, but Case’s, second and third time. It still did not disappoint!

DSC03120

DSC03122 It was just the weirdest thing, walking into a “waterpark” with sweatshirts and jackets on!!

DSC03135

Once we got there, we all checked in, put our stuff in our rooms, and headed downstairs to have lunch with some of MeeMaw’s family, {that would be our family too, I suppose!} before the kids couldn’t take it anymore, and headed to the waterpark!

DSC03136Our Yankee Bobo Boys: Mac, Luke, & Jake

Sadly, I didn’t get many pictures because everyone ran in different directions.. and frankly, it’s not the easiest task, to carry a camera around a waterpark! :)

** I snagged this pic from Mik’s post, of the kids before they started, Matt and I hadn’t gotten there yet..what a GREAT pic!!

 DSC03141 DSC03143

After a full day, we retired back to our rooms, showered and changed, and headed back downstairs for the rest of the evening. Mikki and Clay had gotten all the boys the “MagicQuest” as their Christmas presents, so that occupied most of Mikki and the boys time. The remainder of us enjoyed dinner and ice cream, and peaking in on their game, before calling it a night.

I snagged this one too from Mik, a pic of Cullen’s Wolf Den that MeeMaw and PawPaw got him for his 10th birthday..a little add on to the Christmas present!!

The next morning, bright and early, Mike, Case & the boys flew home, while we all enjoyed a couple more hours in the waterpark, before lunch at Saltgrass with MeeMaw and PawPaw {YUMMY} and heading home ourselves. We missed those Yankee Bobo’s that day, but LOVED every single second, we got to spend with them, while they were here.. Can’t wait for next time!!

Since that weekend, I have been..

S-I-C-K Sicky Sick SICK!!

Miserable awful sick. :( Hopefully I’m on the upswing. I had to miss out on friend time with Holly & Ainsley, Ginger & Reese, and Ashley Saturday afternoon, as well as Cowboys get together Saturday night at Cody & Mel’s!! {by the way, WAY TO GO COWBOYS!!! Winning their first Playoff Game since 1996!!  Now bring me home a SUPERBOWL!!!}

I hope everyone had just as lovely as a start to the New Year as we did! I won’t be making any resolutions this year, because we all know how well that worked our for me last year!!! I will say I look forward to many changes in 2010! I look forward to turning 30 {Ouch!} I look forward to moving and living for FREE! {YAY} I look forward to warmer weather {ha!} I look forward to paying off debt {because of said free rent} I look forward to VACATION {wherever that may be} I look forward to whatever God has in store for me {Perhaps……} :) So, I’m looking forward to 2010, hope you are too!!

Until Next Time!!

The Twelve Days of Christmas..

It’s actually more like the 25 days of Christmas, since I’ve posted NADA this month!! ;) Where to begin..it all went by so fast, but Matt and I had a wonderful Christmas holiday, spending it with many of our nearest and dearest. I find it easier to post through pictures, so here goes!

We left off at Thanksgiving, and December has come and gone, in a flash! The weekend of the 12th, Matt and I attended my family’s Annual Christmas Party! Always a blast!

IMG_3914

I had to take these next pics of my aunt/uncle for a Christmas present I was working on                **stay tuned**

..and the craziness, that is my family and Christmastime!! :)IMG_3922 IMG_3923

On Monday, I came back to work to this!! Merry Christmas Manager!! :) Ha, welcome to Responsibility!! :) Awesome!

IMG_3929

From that week on, I recruited my mom to come help work on my Christmas presents with me..Let’s just say 10 days before Christmas day, I came up with this marvelous idea to MAKE Christmas presents! Here’s sneak peak I:

IMG_4065

The following week was my complex’s “dessert social” and Addi’s school program. Usually it’s Addi & Brennan’s, but since bubba is in kindergarten now, his program was during school, so sadly I had to miss it. Luckily though, Addi’s was still at night, so we were able to attend, after my office party. Here’s a few pics I got at the party..

IMG_3933 IMG_3934    this is our “school room” in the clubhouse..how cute is that??!!

..and here’s sneak peak II:

IMG_3932 IMG_4075

That weekend, Matt and I, along with PawPaw, Uncle Jerry, Clay and the boys, and Cody and Brennan, all packed up in this pimpin ride..

IMG_4021and headed out for the Longview Lobo’s State Championship game against Lake Travis! We left around 11, ate lunch in Athens, and arrived to the game with time to spare. Here’s a couple of shots along the way.

IMG_4032 the boys had a BLAST!

IMG_4037 IMG_4038

GAME TIME!

      IMG_4043 IMG_4034

IMG_4044 IMG_4049

Since the game was played in Waco, Holly & Jered got to bless us with their presence!! It was good getting to spend a couple of hours with them cheering on the Bo’s.. yes, even Jered! :)

IMG_4056DSC05321

Despite the Lobos loss, we had a great time at the game, and we even got to see the Mean Green Marching Machine! :)   IMG_4050   IMG_4055 IMG_4064 Oh Jerry!!

After the game, we were lucky enough to grap a little Chuy’s {YUM-O} before heading back to the View. That next week, mom and I hit my “little project” hardcore..

IMG_4066IMG_4069IMG_4073IMG_4071

..and the DAY before Christmas Eve, we finished out little project of “Rag Quilts!” I made one for my grandmother, Matt’s grandmother, and Matt’s mom, and after the reaction I got from everyone, I can see many more in mom and I’s future!! :) The process started by me going and picking out fabric at Hancock’s for all of oooo, 5 hours!! TOO many choices! Next I had to find the ridiculously overpriced “fabric photo paper” for the pictures..Then came the hours and days of cutting squares. Next came me putting together the blankets square by square, then row by row, and handing them off to mom to sew, washing them, then more CUTTING!! All to lead us to the finished product…

My Grandmother’s:IMG_4078

U Like??? U Impressed?? :) Well, you should be!

Christmas Eve came, and boy was it a busy one. I started out the morning, working until noon. Then came home, finished last minute shopping and wrapping, and we headed over to Matt’s grandmother’s for her to open her present! Since GG has been in and out of the hospital for the last 2 months, she thought it better to stay at home. We missed her on Christmas Eve/Day, but it was SUCH a great visit to have the old GG back. She looked great, and better yet, felt great too! After GG’s we headed to my dad’s to have our “small ferguson” family Christmas..

IMG_4133

IMG_4144 IMG_4145 IMG_4147

After my dad’s, we headed to our third stop, my aunt Teresa’s for the Ferguson Family Christmas!

IMG_4149 IMG_4151

                IMG_4154 IMG_4155

IMG_4160IMG_4163 IMG_4158 IMG_4171 IMG_4187 IMG_4190 IMG_4191 IMG_4194 IMG_4197 IMG_4196 IMG_4199 IMG_4201 IMG_4202 IMG_4174 IMG_4175 IMG_4176 IMG_4178 IMG_4181 IMG_4206

A couple of years ago, we decided for our growing family, to start the tradition of the “Chinese Christmas” and it’s been a hit ever since. There’s always some yelling, and fighting, stealing, and family fun.. I can’t even imagine the conversation between my dad and Teresa below..ha!

IMG_4207

This years best, was Mike’s present.. the boys were definitely envious! ;)IMG_4209

After Teresa’s, Matt and I loaded up for our fourth stop, Christmas at Cody’s with my mom.. and this is how we found her, when Matt and I arrived..

IMG_4211 IMG_4213 IMG_4215

Matt and I got Brennan the BIG DADDY Gun!!

Addi wanted this princess piano book, and she LOVED it!! We got her some other stuff too!! :)

       IMG_4222  IMG_4227

       IMG_4224 IMG_4221

So I have to “set” these next pics up.. WARNING: The following sentences are NOT child appropriate! :) So.. my dad’s brother, Mike, dresses up like Santa every year and hands out candycanes to the kids who go by his house, well Mike thought it would be fun, if he dressed up in his Santa outfit and came over after Teresa’s and “peeked” in the window, let the kids see him and run off.. as to say, “Nope, gotta pass this house and come back, the kids are still awake”.. well, let’s just say, his plan went HORRIBLY wrong.. These two kids seeing Santa “peek” in were MORTIFIED!!

IMG_4240IMG_4241

Sadly, it was one of THE. FUNNIEST. THINGS. I’ve ever seen!!! Santa the Creeper!! Hilarious! I mean, honestly, what kids are AFRAID of SANTA CLAUS??!! After MANY a’ minutes trying to calm these two kiddos down, we moved on to the next thing! :)

IMG_4245

I made Cody & Mel picture books of the kids, from birth until now, and I’m talking every picture these children have ever been in, all holidays, sports, school, everything! I spent a ridiculously amount of time on them, but didn’t want to order them until I had pictures of Christmas to finish out the year, so I just printed out the covers and gave them to them. Mel “knew” what she was getting, and was SO bummed that I didn’t have the actual books..but she’ll LOVE them when they get here!!

vpy%3d0CAFTV02E vpy%3d0CAOM64WO

After opening all the presents, Matt and I hung out, and played a little before heading to our fifth and final stop!

IMG_4254

We arrived at Matt parent’s house at the Lake just before midnight, right about the time to catch a last minute card came, open our Christmas Eve PJ’s and call it a night! Christmas morning, was my kind of Christmas morning, Matt and I didn’t get out of bed until at least 9, and once we were up, we still waited on the Funder5 to head downstairs!

IMG_4256

IMG_4257 IMG_4258  IMG_4278IMG_4281IMG_4283

We got Clara a little karaoke Elmo, and she LOVED it.. ha, Dancing Machine!! :)

Cullen couldn’t decide what he wanted for Christmas, so he got this..IMG_4266 I’d say he came out pretty well!!

IMG_4268

IMG_4289

We got Matt’s parent’s another set of Picture Cards, which they LOVED last year, so now we have 2 decks to play with!! :)

IMG_4309 IMG_4310 IMG_4313

Matt and I also gave his parents, Mikki & Clay, and Mike & Casey, family photos for Christmas! Here’s Mik and MeeMaw opening their gifts. I had printed out stick heads on the computer of each family member, and wrote Family Photos, December 26th @ 3pm MeeMaw & PawPaw’s house.. they were quite cute, I wish I had gotten a picture of them.. **Updated: I found one in a pic I had taken, and tried to blow it up and crop it..it didn’t turn out very well, but you’ll get the drift.

IMG_4305 IMG_4308 IMG_4316

After presents, we had a fabulous breakfast, and spent the remainder of the day playing games and eating some more! Around 6ish, Matt and I packed up and headed home, so that MeeMaw and PawPaw could head to Dallas to pick up the Yankee Bobo’s!! :) The next day we headed back over to the Lake so that we could all take our family photos.. everyone looked so cute, and despite the chilly weather, I can’t wait to get the pics back from MJ!! (my wedding photographer) After pics, the boys all opened presents, and when I went to begin my picture taking of the exciting event, I discovered that my camera WAS BROKEN!!!!!!!!!!Absolutely, Positively Broken!! My LCD screen was smashed internally, and I had NO idea how it happened!! To say I was devastated, was an understatement! {I have since, sent my camera off to Canon to be fixed/replaced. They can only concur that it was the below freezing temperature that caused my screen to bust..how weird..so if you have an LCD screen..don’t get it too hot or too cold!! who knew?!} After all the trauma, we decided to load up and headed into town for some dinner together, before Matt and I made a B-line to Best Buy, so I could get MY Christmas gift!!! (I had to have something to put me in a better mood!!)

 iphone3g

I had asked for gift cards for it, and my contract came up in December, and I have to tell you I couldn’t be happier with it, I LOVE it!! :) WooHoo!!!

The next morning, Matt headed off for golf with the boys, while I headed to the hospital in anticipation for Reese Olivia to make her arrival!! I got there around 1ish, and Ginger was pretty much in hell ;) She had yet to get her epidural, and was feeling pretty much everything! {Made me put off that baby idea for a couple of more YEARS at least} :) Gin was progressing slowly, and around 5ish, the Dr. decided to go ahead and take the baby by C-Section, so Gin and Seane got prepared, and off they went!! Sadly, I did not get any pics of Gin, honestly, because I wanted to live to show the ones I did get!! :)

IMG_4335

Gin was in recovery and baby Reese was in the back of the nursery, and we all knew we weren’t really going to get to see either one of them that night, so we called it a night, and waited for Gin’s phone call when I could come back and hold that sweet baby~

Luckily to tie me over, Gin sent this pic on Monday:

and on Tuesday, when I got the call, I rushed straight to the hospital to hold this sweet, perfect, beautiful little girl!!

securedownloadj GOD LOVE HER! I can’t wait until they’re all home and settled in, to go hold her some more!! :)

Whew!! I think that brings us to today!! I’ve had to work this week, but thankfully I’m off Friday!! We’ve got big plans for the New Year, but I guess you’ll just have to wait until NEXT year to hear about it!! :)

Until Next Time!! Have a SAFE & HAPPY New Years!! Happy 2010!!

Turkey Lurkey Time!!

..is actually a song from the Broadway musical “Promises, Promises”..who knew?! Awesome!! :) Anywho..HOW is it December already??!! Seriously.

Matt and I enjoyed a very busy, action packed, fun-filled, friends and family spent, good ole’ extended weekend! It all started on Wednesday. Matt had the day off, so him and his dad and Clay all headed to lake fork to play golf, (have I mentioned how much I HATE golf??!!) I had to work! Luckily I got to leave a little early around 4ish, and I just caught up on some TIVO, and waited for Mattie to get home. We went to dinner at Outback that night, and made a mad dash to WalMart to pick up a few items for Thanksgiving day. Thursday (Turkey Day), I awoke and got busy in the kitchen, making corn casserole and sopapilla chessecake (this will make more sense in a bit). ;) Around noon, we headed to my dad’s to spend our first Thanksgiving meal with The Ferguson’s!!

IMG_3805God Love Em’!!!

Around 2:30ish, Matt and I loaded up and headed to Matt’s parents, to celebrate Cinco de Mayo!! (AKA The Bobo Family Thanksgiving) Ha! You did not misread..Matt’s parents in all good intentions, decided to have a Mexican Fiesta, because they thought we’d all be sick of turkey and dressing by the time we got to their house..ummm, WRONG!! I literally was almost brought to tears when I heard the news!! PawPaw makes the BEST dressing, and it’s something I look forward to every year!! So needless to say, MeeMaw promised we’d never have Mexican again on Thanksgiving! ;) {It actually was really good though} but their children, were none to pleased!! :)

IMG_3818this was the only picture I got of the Bobo Fiesta, I sooo wish I had taken pictures of the spread!  We spent the evening watching football and playing games, and left oooo so late around 11!! What a great Thanksgiving we had; So blessed to be surrounded and loved by such an amazing family!!

On Friday, Matt was off to golf, AGAIN, while I drove to Mel’s, grabbed her, mom, & Addi, and we all headed off for Shreveport. We spent the day braving Black Friday, had lunch at Superior {YUMMY}, and after a looong tiring day, headed back to ViewTown. That evening, I waited for Matt to get home, and Colleen to get into town. We had a full weekend planned, so Colleen came in to stay with us. Around 9ish we set out for the 3rd Annual Young Post-Thanksgiving Bonfire!!

After an even looonger evening, Matt & I, Colleen & Ryan, and Ryan’s friend Brent all ended up at Waffle House in the wee hours of the morning, before calling it a day! Saturday bright and early, I finished up a few last minute errands and details, in preparations of one of my closest and dearest, Ginger’s baby shower, that I along with 5 others were hosting that day! Around noon, I headed back over to Mel’s to set up for the shower, along with Ashley and Ambo! The shower started at 1, and I thought it ended up great!! Lots of girls, lots of yummy treats, and Reese racked up on some awesome gifts!!

IMG_3902 IMG_3846The adorable diaper cake that Ashley made for Reese! Gin, I was honored to help host the shower for you, and I can’t wait to meet that sweet beautiful baby girl..just not on Christmas day!! :)

After the shower, I came home and tried to relax a little, while Matt was out hitting GOLF balls at the range with Blaine, Colleen had already come back to the house and got a good nap in, so once we all got back to the house, we all just sat around before Ryan came over and we left for dinner at Fritz’s. Afterwards, and several failed attempts to make it a movie night, Matt and I called it a night. Sunday was a day of trying to relax, take down my fall stuff, which by the way is still in my living room and not a single Christmas thing has made it’s way up.. Matt and I had lunch at Chili’s, watched a little football, and that was the conclusion of our extended holiday weekend. Today was crazy busy as an apartment complex always is at the first of the month. Here’s looking for a calmer rest of the week, I doubt that’s gonna happen though.. I know the next time I turn around it will be Christmas, and I’m soooo not ready for that!!

Until Next Time!

Settle for a Slowdown..

WHEW-WEE! I sure could settle for a slowdown!! Things have been craaazy busy since the decision to “make the move”! So here I am, finally blogging again! Let’s see..I’m almost one week through my new job, and so far so good. The first day was insane but since, everything has started falling into place. Don’t get me wrong, I still have aLOT to learn, but with time and routine, I know I’ll get the hang of it.. lets just hope “corporates” ok with that!! :) Last week was tough, as it was my last at MR. So sad to say goodbye’s to such great friends I’ve made over the years, but hopefully it’ll all pay off in the long run! The past weekends have been busy as well. Last weekend, Matt and I were able to catch Brennan’s last official soccer game. Here’s some pics of the superstar! :)

Just one more sweet pic Mel got of the kids for Halloween/Thanksgiving..m7 The cutest kids EVER!!

This past Friday, after packing up my office, I headed over to Holly’s grandparents, to try and catch anytime I could get with Parker & Ainsley (oh, and Holly too!) before they headed back home early Saturday morning. I didn’t get there until after dark, so I only got a couple of hours to play with Parker, eat dinner, get him a bath and in his PJ’s before he headed to bed, Ainsley on the other hand didn’t care what time of the day or night I got there, because all she did was sleep! Seriously like 3 hours in my arms, sleep!! I didn’t care though, I’d hold and watch that sweet little angel sleep for 13 hours!! Here’s 2 not so flattering pics I snagged from Smalls of my visit..

Hurry back Johnston’s!! Saturday morning, Matt and I met the Green’s for breakfast at the diner..soo fun! We had a wonderful meal with even wonderfulER company!! :) HAVE to make it a Saturday morning tradition! After breakfast, Matt and I headed back home, and soon after got a visit from Buddy. Bud spent the afternoon with us, him and Matt went to the driving range, while I ran some errands, before we got ready for our big night. Colleen’s oh so lovely little sister Emily was getting married that night, and I couldn’t wait to witness her and Jeff’s union! Em moved into my “old” apartments about a year ago, actually just right across the drive, so it’s been so much fun keeping up with her and watching her get ready for her wedding! So around 6ish, Matt and I headed to the Summit Club for the festivities to begin!

IMG_3680 Em taking her walk..

Please excuse the horrific lightning and quality of pics from here on out..sooo ashamed! ;)
