Welcome to the Jungle!

We're Back! We had a wonderful, fun-filled weekend, but were ready to get back home..crazy after just one day..but we were worn out! Let's see..

Friday- We stayed in, ordered pizza, and packed a little for the next day.

Saturday- we woke up around 9ish, took showers, and headed out around 10:30. Our first stop, was at Matt's cousins house (Troy & Sabrina) in Frisco. We met MeeMaw and PawPaw, the Funder 5, as well as Matt's other cousin, Troy's sister (Dina & Jeff), and their parents, Barbara's brother (Harold & Sandra). {got all that?!} Troy and Sabrina live in a fantastic two-story house, fully equiped with a media room, and a rock pool with a built in slide..it was beautiful. They had cooked out hamburgers for us, and we all go to visit a while, before we headed off to Christian's gym meet. Christian's meet began around 3:30 in Allen, and lasted a good three hours. It was fun getting to see Christian compete, and see how far he's come..Here are a couple of pics from the big meet, the big loooonnngg meet, with NO where to SIT!! ;)
on the rings..
on the vault..
on the parallel bars..on the high bar..
on the floor..on the pummel..
waiting.. I sooo wish the pic above, wasn't blurry!! :( After the meet concluded, we all headed, for our FOUR hour visit to..

waiting..and waiting..and WAITING..
keeping entertained..We FINALLY got seated, and we all enjoyed an O-so Yummy meal with each other. - well worth the wait- Afterwards, we said our goodbye's to MeeMaw and PawPaw, and Matt and I, and the Funder5 headed for our hotel in Las Colinas.
Ta-da!! Just like the Internet pictures!
I was pleasantly..wouldn't say surprised, so..justified :), seeing that the hotel was just like as described, and very happily checked in with my $45 reservation. We all were on the third floor with rooms right next to each other..no small talk here though, we all went straight to bed!

The next morning, we woke up around 9ish, took our time getting ready, checked out and stopped at the corner bakery for a little breakfast, before heading to the..

three little monkeys..I think they were trying to attempt, the "see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil" ..dorks!
heading in..
The gorilla was my favorite, and he knew Mik and I were taking pictures of him, and couldn't believe when he did THIS..
nah, nah, na, boo-boo..you can't get me..
The newest part of the zoo, had a sky tram thing..and for $3 a person you could take a ride..so Matt and I paid our $6, while Clay paid his $12 :) and we jumped aboard!!

in the midst of all our sightseeing, we decided to take a break, and visit the children's petting zoo, and let the kids play and the adults relax a little bit.. I unfortunately chose the way wrong shoes for this outing, and they were beginning to hurt..

and finally, Matt's favorite..the Gators!

Sadly, not all of us made it out of The Jungle..at least Christian took one for the team! ;)

After a long, loong day, Clara took a little nap with Lammie!

and, by this time in the day..I was DONE as well..so we called it a day!! feet so so hurt!

Pros & Cons of the Dallas Zoo!Numbered List

  1. Fantastic Weather
  2. Wonderful Family Time
  3. The Gorillas
  4. WRONG shoes
  5. when you think of the zoo..and animals, what comes to mind first.. Lions & Tigers & Bears, Oh My!!! right??!! Well..NO lions, ONE tiger, and NO bears!!! :(

On our way out of the zoo, I heard an awful scream..and kiddingly, said out loud, wow..someone doesn't want to leave the zoo..and man oh man, were we all in for a treat. A little girl, prob. 3ish, and her brother prob. 5ish, were in the midst of an all out holy meltdown about leaving the zoo..This lasted a good 15 minutes, before I snapped this video..I felt a TAD bit bad for shooting, so mind you it is very short..but the point of the video is to say..if your kids act like this..SHAME ON YOU!!!

We said our goodbye's to the Funder 5, and Matt and I made our last stop here, before heading home! YUMMY!!

..and back to the daily grind this week..

Until Next Time!
