My husband keeps reminding me that I have a blog, so I felt the need to update finally, AND, to show you all, the INCREDIBLE snow pictures East Texas got!!! I honestly cant remember the last time it snowed this much around here.. Everyone keeps saying, “Oh back in the 80’s..” I do remember one NYE while in College, we got a pretty good snow, but NOTHING like last weeks!! It began last Thursday morning, Feb 11th. I usually check my email and facebook from my iphone, before even getting out of the bed in the mornings, (I know!) and on facebook, people were saying, “It’s Snowing, It’s Snowing”..and I thought, yea right, so I got up and looked outside, only to find this..
SNOW!! I couldn’t believe it, and I was in NO way prepared for what we eventually got!! I proceeded on to work that morning, and loved every second of watching it continue to snow ALL. DAY. LONG.
After work, I went to pick up Addi from school, and we had so much fun, watching it snow together!!
That night, the snow began to die down a little, but the meteorologist had promised more to come overnight.
And, in true “Mark said it would” form, we awoke to THIS:
HOLY MOLY, Look at all that SNOW!!!
This was at 6:45am, so you know it had to be good, for me to be up that early!! I got up with Matt as he contemplated on whether or not to drive on to work..
This is what happened when he attempted to use his windshield wipers to get the snow off..
Around 10ish, I decided to head on in to work, and my gosh, what an absolute beauuuutiful drive it was! I felt like I was in Colorado for sure!! The prettiest thing God created..amazing!
Here’s a few I snagged from Mikki, from over at their house! {Man, what I would have given to be able to play in it that day, instead of having to WORK!}
..and finally, the kids snowman they were working on..
..and one from MeeMaw & PawPaw’s!!
looks like it came straight out of a magazine, huh?? :)
Sadly, that afternoon, most of the snow began to melt and by the next afternoon, all that was left was snowless snowman’s standing in the grass. That night, Matt and I went over to Philip & Ashley’s, and so enjoyed ourselves hanging out and eating some pizza king! The next day, Valentine’s Day, Matt and I did… absolutely nothing! {ha!} We laid in bed until 6 or so, before heading to Casa Ole’ for dinner..yes, Casa Ole’. for. dinner. on. Valentine’s Day. :) Matt was embarrassed to take me, at the thought of what people would think of him, for taking me to Casa Ole’ for Valentine’s day! Despite the uneventful “holiday”, we had a wonderful day, and afterall, isn’t that what Valentine’s is all about?!
All of that leads us to today.. Feb. 17th, which happens to be my bestie’s 30th BIRTHDAY!!!
Happy HAPPY Birthday Smalls!! I hope you had the bestest day!! :)
Until Next Time!!
