This past Labor day weekend, our time was spent most, in water! :)
Friday evening, as you’ve read.. Matt and I attended the Longview/JT game. On Saturday, Matt and I loaded up and headed over to Tyler, for a quick lunch at one of our faves, Julian’s! After lunch, we met up with Cody and Mel and the kids, and headed to my mom’s boyfriend, Bubba’s, house on lake Palestine. H&W (where my mom works) was hosting their annual “Poker Run” on the lake. The event benefits MDA, and all the proceeds go to help Jerry’s Kids! The idea, is you start out at a check point on the lake, head to five different spots on the lake, and get a card. At the end, everyone meets back up to show their cards (which are hidden in envelopes) and whoever has the best hand, wins! This was our first year to attend, and I have to say we all enjoyed it!
At Bubba’s, we joined my mom and bubba, as well as bubba’s son Taylor, his wife Coral, and their boy’s Hunter, Caleb, & Eli.
Heading out..
The Twins: Hunter & Caleb..or Caleb & Hunter ;)
Here’s Brennan, breaking it down like his daddy!! ;)
..and, Eli-Missy & Addi (with her bag of makeup of course!)
The weather was PERFECT, temperature phenomenal, so we decided to stop and take a dip..
waiting to see how our hands faired.. they didn’t! ;)
here’s the best pic I could snag of bubba..
After we lost, we all headed back to bubba’s house for dinner and visiting. Sunday, sticking with our water theme.. Matt and I awoke, got ready, and headed to the big city of Diana, to witness my brother, Cody, get baptized!! Oh how proud I am, of the man and father he’s become! Love you Cody! After church, Matt and I headed back over to Tyler, this time to his parents, on Lake Tyler. We met up with MeeMaw & PawPaw, Jerry & GiGi, The Funder5, and Mikki’s best friend from high school, Kirsten and her son Hayden, for some good ole’ holiday fun. Yummy burgers, PawPaw’s FAMOUS homemade ice cream, and fun in the sun! Late that evening, PawPaw hooked up the tube, and Clara and Hayden enjoyed their first ever tube ride!!
Mikki & Kirsten decided to take a spin around the lake, and they had SO much fun!! It looked like a blast, and I was quite envious! Matt’s back had been hurting that day, and it was getting dark, so I didn’t speak up, but man, I can’t wait for my turn!
Monday I spent much of the day just hanging out, enjoying my day off from work. I cleaned while Matt played golf, and hey..caught up on my bloggin! :) I’m really going to try to do better! :)
Until Next Time!
