September 8th, Seriously??!! Ashamed, I truly am. How did I skip through the entire month of October?? Quite a lot to catch up on, so here’s the highlights..
**Hit the hyperlinks throughout, for years past!**
- Way back on Sept. 15th, Cody & Mel, celebrated their 9th year wedding anniversary!!!
I decided to be a little more active this year, and Brennan and I rode almost everything! Even this, from last year..
- That same weekend, I attended not one, but two baby showers.. The first, Matt’s childhood pal, Josh’s wife Ashley..
baby Ella’s “Saints bow”, burp cloths, and wiper case!
Matt’s other childhood pal, Buddy’s, baby boy Jacob!
Second, I met up with Ginger and sweet baby Reese, to attend a friend from high school, Kassidy’s..
and Kass’ sweet baby girl, Sydney!
- We sold Matt’s car, and bought this…
CRAZINESS= NO car payment!! ha, he loves it!
- Mel’s 35th bday, was October 9th, and Matt and I went over for dinner to celebrate. That next week, Addi was VIP at school,
so I helped her, let her help me, make her poster! ;)
- October also brought us Texas Ranger playoff games, and football..
oh, and if you haven’t heard.. Cowboys are 1 & 6!!!!!!!!!!!
- We started getting ready for Fall..
- Matt picked up a ball and bat, for the first time in YEARS.. I think he actually STRUCK out here, hehe.. so much for that “draft” ;)
- Matt and I celebrated our 2 year Anniversary! On the 25th, we headed East to Shreveport, and made a b-line to the Horseshoe! We had a couples massage scheduled @ 2!! Matt had never gotten one before, and I had never done a “couples”.. it was wonderful, but so darn expensive! Afterwards, we checked into our room for the night, got ready, and headed to dinner at Superior Steakhouse, making it our annual anniversary dining destination!! so. good. Oh, the mac & cheese!! (2008 & 2009)
If you’ll remember, Matt and I decided to stick to “traditional gifts” every year, and this year was cotton.. I got Mattie..
to celebrate their AH-MAZING season..
and I got..
the new iphone cover, I’d been dying to have.. surely it has some cotton in it, right??..
Our complimentary cheesecake from Superior..
After dinner, we retired back to our hotel, for the first half of the Cowboys game, that was until our QB BROKE HIS COLLAR BONE!!! Seriously Cowboys, what has happened! Every week somehow gets worse! It was gambling time after that, so we went downstairs.. where I won $200 bucks! :)
It seems crazy that Matt and I have already and only been married for 2 years!! Seeing as we’ve been together for 16!! Here’s to many more though, Mattie! It was a great anniversary day!
- That following week, I heard Mattie on the phone one night. Usually when his phone rings at night, it’s either his brother in law, Clay, or his parents. I heard him say, “Heck Yeah, I’ll go.” ..and with only those words, I just had a feeling it was his parents, and screamed.. “Do I get to go too?” To the WORLD SERIES, that was!! To Game 3 of the World Series, Texas Ranger’s very first time! WoooHoooo! That Friday after work, Matt and I headed over to his parents for the night. We had dinner in town, followed by ice cream, some good ole’ visiting, and called it a night. The next morning, we were up and at em’, heading to the Big D! By lunch, we arrived at The Chessecake Factory (quite possibly my favorite place on earth!), checked into our hotel room, met up with Clay & Cullen, and headed to The Ballpark in Arlington!!
“cheating on my first love!” ;)
Kelly Clarkson sang The National Anthem!
The Fly-Over, nothing quite like it!
Pudge Rodriguez, catching the first pitch, from..
Nolan, Laura, & George!! Love me some Bush’s!! :)
Darren O’Day!! O’Day, O’ Day, O’Day, O’Day!
Largest crowd in Ranger’s Ballpark HISTORY!
all the pitchers walking over after the win!
It was by far, one of the GREATEST experiences EVER!! Not only can we say we went to the FIRST ever Ranger’s World Series game, but we've witnessed the ONLY ever Rangers WIN in the World Series!! The crowd was fantastic, the music was intoxicating, memories that will last a lifetime!!
One last pic, I stole off my photographer MJ’s facebook page..
- The following day was Halloween, and after we all awoke in our hotel room, we got ready to head home, but decided to stop and take a stroll down memory lane first, for realzz!! As we made our way through Dallas, PawPaw asked, if we’d like to drive by his and MeeMaw’s old houses..umm, yes please! Matt’s parents actually went to the same elementary school, and lived just blocks from each other, until PawPaw and his family moved to Henderson!!! MeeMaw had a crush on PawPaw, but never said anything.. after all, they were in FIRST grade!! Yeeears passed, and one day, MeeMaw saw PawPaw on TV! It was a televised game, when he was the quarterback for SMU! She ended up stalking him down, and CALLING him! The rest they say, is history!! :)
Here’s the school where they first met!! :)
MeeMaw’s childhood home, where all SIX of her brother & sisters lived!! The house was actually vacant, so we got to get out and look inside the windows!! The NEATEST! MeeMaw was like a kid again, the memories came flooding back..
PawPaw’s house We spent hours driving around looking at their old stomping grounds! Another awesome thing to experience, I was sooo glad to be able to hear and see all that..
We decided to stop at Saltgrass, for a quick bite to eat, before heading back. Matt and I headed on home after getting our stuff at his parents, we rested a bit, then I was off again to meet up with the kids for a little Trick or Treating!! (2008 & 2009)
Demi Nicole, the cutest little kitty I’ve ever seen!!!
I just had to take a picture of the insane amount of golf carts lining the streets, trick or treating! Granted, we were in Fairway Oaks, a neighborhood located on a golf course, but STILL.. trick or treating has sure changed from back in the day!!!
after quite a little trek, we all decided to hop on for a little ride, all NINE of us!! :)
one of the houses we stopped at, had a full fledge carnival going on..
look at that tiny little booty..all he needed was a sling on his “non-throwing” arm!!!!!!
Halloween, was just as enjoyable as ever. Love me some Halloween!!
- In November happenings, Mikki sent me this picture yesterday, that I just had to share..
Clara, in her “I was worth the wait” onesie I got her!!
In only a couple of days, she’ll be THREE.. WHERE has the time gone??!!
- Today, we attended Brennan’s last Flag Football game of the season. They made it to the playoff’s, but their run ended today.. better luck next year Eagles, yall played a great season!
In other football news, I’ll close with this.. a little tacky, alot hilarious, but sadly true!
- Next week, marks my ONE year anniversary with my new job. This past week, I’ve been interviewing leasing agents, as our second phase is almost complete. The next several weeks are going to get VERY busy for moi!! Wish me luck! Pray for patience!! :)
Until Next Time!!
Happy November!! I think I’m ready for the Holiday’s!! :)
