I sooo heart long weekends, and this one my friends, was no exception! Roadtrips and Rides, what a busy fun-filled weekend! It all started on Thursday.. after work, Matt-Missy-and I all headed to the kids end of the year “school” program. This was Addi’s first year to actually participate, and Brennan’s LAST. It was so bitter-sweet, and just plain crazy to see how far Brennan has come, and the realization of just how big he really is. The program’s are usually all the same. A few songs from each class, a recognition of their teachers, a slide-show of the year with refreshments to follow. Addi was up first, and while I don’t think she got all the songs right, or even attempted all of them for that matter, it was still to precious for words!
Demi isn’t really a fan of performances or crowds, and enjoyed her spot much better with her daddy! ;)

After the program, Matt-Missy-and I- met C0dy, Mel, and the kiddos at Carlito’s for dinner, before Missy and I drove to Athens for the night. Friday morning, Mom and I, and my aunt and cousin, Elizabeth and Holley, began our trek to Austin for my other cousin, Brooke’s, graduation from UT! We arrived in Austin, and checked into our hotel, just in time for the graduation to begin. We had a slight misunderstanding where the venue was, and ended up having to walk 1000 miles, in the blistering hot sun, before reaching our destination. Luckily we made it on time, and were able to witness Brooke's walk across the stage! Did I mention she was number 8??! So congratulation's to the other 1599 people we watched as well!! ;)
blurry and so disappointing..but as good as it’s gonna get!

After the party, we headed back to the hotel, for some much needed Zzzz’s! The next morning, we awoke and found the nearest outlet mall, and enjoyed three glorious hours of non-stop shopping! After Coach Heaven shopping, we concluded our Austin trip, with a late lunch at Chuy’s {YUMMY} and drove back to Cedar Creek Lake to drop off Elizabeth and Holley. One boat ride later, Mom and I were on our way to Dallas, so she could hand me off to Matt and his family at the..
Thanks momma for "Taking me There!"
Last week was Clay’s birthday, and Mikki and PawPaw decided to surprise him with a quick trip to Big D, to play at the Tour 18 and stay at the Great Wolf Lodge. They had all stayed there once before, after Matt and I’s wedding, but this was the first time for Matt and I. That afternoon, The boys played golf, while the girls and the kids played at the indoor waterpark, and I met up with them that night..I was really anxious for the next day after seeing how fun the place looked. We all roamed the halls that night, sightseeing, and then got ready for bed.
Sunday we headed downstairs, to begin our day at the waterpark. What a cool cool place. It was a little crowded, seeing as it was a holiday weekend, but it still wasn’t bad. Some of the rides definitely took my breath away, we will for sure be some return customers!
some of the bigger slides..they even extended outside. Below was a gigantic bucket that dumped water down below..a bell would begin to ding, and everyone would run to the vicinity of the “dump” to await the water..
We had a wonderful day, thanks Bobo’s for another awesome time!! :)
Monday was Memorial Day, and it was so good to be at home for a bit..in my bed! :) That afternoon, Matt and I drove over to Cody and Mel’s to celebrate the holiday, bbq and poolside style!
The boys decided to play a friendly little game of golf.. and before we knew it, the competition was on.
Of course, Cody needed to per-fect his “greens” beforehand..
After the sun went down, and we had a wonderful relaxing day.. Matt and I headed home, so that I could watch..
and..
WHO watched Jon & Kate plus 8..or should I say, the beginning of what looks to be becoming, KATE plus 8??!! Ugh- absolutely gut-wrenching! It was the most dramatic thing, I think I’ve ever seen. My heart ached for them. I cried and cussed and cried and cussed some more!! I can’t believe they let so much out..at times, I thought..should we really be watching this?? I’ve read all the “reviews” today, saying how they are just playing it up for the media to get ratings for their show..but what I saw last night was REAL..I don’t care what anybody says! I feel sooo sad for their kids! Shame on you Jon for putting your family through this! No matter how bitchy Kate tends to be, there is NO excuse for Jon’s actions and the way he is behaving now.. I mean come on, grow up you jerk! Did anyone catch his new car?? I mean..how many kids you plan on carrying in that thing Jon??!! It seems he wants nothing to do with the situation anymore, like he’s so overwhelmed with everything, he’s acting out like a teenager- you signed up for this, now take responsibility. I love how he just decided to “take the weekend off” on his kids 5th birthday party weekend. The tension between them was painful to watch. Poor Kate! I’d love to see them work things out, if in fact Jon really didn’t cheat, for the kids sake, but they’ve got a LOT of things to work through first! What did you all think? I could write a novel on this!! :)
Anyhow back to the daily grind this week..thank heavens it’s only 4 days until the weekend! I hope you all enjoyed your holiday weekend as much as I did. Thank you Lord for the men and women that have sacrificed their lives for us, so that we can enjoy the freedoms that we do. Know that you do not go unnoticed!
Until Next Time!!
